It's that time of the year... Time to get all political. Yes, friends, it's almost time to vote. And I can think of no better reason to dust off the old blog and say something meaningful to the masses (err, masses of Ohioans at least). I will briefly discuss each of the three "ballot measures" (aka 'issues') for Ohio, which way I will be voting and why. Ready? To bad, here we go!

Truckers are now *legally* able to drive 65 in Ohio now. Therefore they will soon be driving 75 with the rest of Ohio's motorists while being passed by Ohio State Patrol officers. I just wonder how much time and money this is costing (legislation, making new signs, putting up new signs, etc...) while the state is planning to reduce funding for programs that Ohioans actually need, like libraries, child care facilities and Help Me Grow programs. "The system" (aka our socialistic government) is not keeping up its end of the bargain. We are a two-income family... or at least we were until my six-month pregnant wife was laid off. (Yeah, that's another rant...) She is currently working a couple of hours here-and-there with her employer and they are paying her the vacation time that she has coming to her. The problem with this is that she is not eligible for unemployment while they are paying her. The vacation pay will run out just before the baby is born. While she is on "maternity leave" she is ineligible for unemployment because she is "medically unable to work."
